R <br />y~ 90 <br />x~ 6Q• <br />Colorado Department <br />of Public Health <br />andFnvitonment <br />Division of Minerals d Geology <br />Subject: Compliance Inspection of Industrial Wastewater Treatment Facility, Basin Resources, <br />Inc. - Golderi Eagle Mine (CDPS No. COG-850040), Las Animas County <br />Deaz Mr. Durham: <br />This letter serves to report the results of the compliance inspection conducted by the Technical Services <br />Unit of the Water Quality Control Division (the Division) on the above-referenced facility on July 17, <br />2003. The assistance of Ronald Thompson was very helpful and greatly appreciated. Copies of the <br />inspection report and the signed Permit Termination Form have been attached for your records. <br />Violations: <br />1. No violations were noted. <br />Permit Issues: <br />These items may assist the Division during the next dischazge permit renewal or to provide clarification <br />for an amendment to the current petmut. During the inspection, we observed the following facility <br />conditions that aze not accurately represented in the permit: <br />2. The ponds at Outfalls 003 and 004 had been decommissioned and a healthy vegetative cover <br />established over the azea. <br />3. The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology has approved the Phase II bond release. <br />4. The original signed Permit Termination Fonn, recommending termination of the permit, has <br />been forwarded to Shirley Pease of the Division's Permits Unit for processing. Until final <br />inactivation notification is received from the Division, the permit and its obligations will remain <br />in active, which will require that activities such as the submittal of the Discharge Monitoring <br />Reports continue. <br />
