The rate of mining will directly relate to the demand for conswction materials in Summit
County. Generally we believe the mine will progress according to the following timetable:
Year 1 Construct roads, prepaze the ground in the process plant azea, and
begin excavation of an augmentation pond (Mining Cell 1).
Year 2 Erect equipment in the process plant azea, construct field conveyor
and roads, excavate the augmentation pond, begin stripping in
Mining Cell 2.
Year 3 Place the lining in the augmentation pond, begin mining in Mining
Cell 2.
Years 4 through 13 Mining of Mining Ce112.
Years 1 a through 26 Mining of Mining Cell 3.
Years 27 through 30 Mining of Mining Cell 4.
Years 31 through 38 Mining of Mining Cell 5.
Years 39 through ~5 Mining of Mining Ce116 (process plant azea).
Year =16 Finish lining of the augmentation pond (Mining Cell 1).
Years 4,' through 50 Breakdown of equipment and final reclamation.
The following equipment will be utilized in this operation:
Dragline Loaders (4) Scrapers (2) Field conveyor
Feeders (3) Screens (3) Crushers(4) Stacking conveyors
Electric control vans Generators (3) Dozer Road grader
Concrete plant Haul trucks Asphalt plant Wash plant
Clarifier Shop buildings Office 14' wide Scale
Portable toilets Fuei truck Mechanic wck Fuel tank
Bottled water Ready mix concrete trucks
In order to gain an understanding of the extent of the mining operation, it is helpful to know the
acres disturbed by different aspects of the mine. We have selected a point in time where the
mining disturbance could be at its maximum. This occurs during the mining of the southern end
of Mining Ce112. At this time, the roads and field conveyor will be at the longest length and
several hundred feet of lake shore will be under reclamation. The following acres of disturbance
apply at this time:
Stripped Overburden and Topsoil Including the Location of the Drag Line & Windrow 5 acres
Topsoil and Overburden Stockpiles 1 acre
Roads 5 acres
Field Conveyor 1 acre
Processing Plant Area 24 acres
Lakeshore Final Graded With Topsoil and Overburden 2 acres
Lakeshore Seeded 2 acres
Total Disturbed Acres 40 acres
D-2
