...
EXHIBIT B
Site Description:
This operation will take place in the stream
bed of the Arickaree River, which flows through the
extreme north west corner of Kit Carson Countv.
The land through which this creek runs is rough
and rolling and not suitable for farming. The
present use, and the proposed future use, will be
rangeland for which it is best suited.
The east bank of this creek contains gravel
that appears on the surface. It is not planned to
disturbs this area unless more gravel is needed
than the stream bed will supply. The vegetation on
both sides of the permit area is the natural grasses
of the area. Among the varieties noted were Side
Oat gramma, Buffalo, Y6heat grass, Also some sunflower
and prickly pear cactus was observed along the banks.
The soil Conservation Service will provide a more
complete report of the grasses and forbes in this
pit area.
This operation will have no affect on the
wild life of the area. The Wildlife Division has
been asked for an impact statement which will be
attached to this application.
There are no bridges, wells, pipelines,
Railroads, cemetaries, antennas within 200' of this
operation. There is county road "0" which borders
the pit on the west side negating any need for a
haul road. At one time there eas a barbed wire
fence, but this is in extreme disrepair.
