SULLNAN, WATER RESOURCE INGINEER <br />SUBJECT: STORM WATER DETENTION IN GRAVEL PITS <br />DATE: 07/24/98 <br />CC: DICK WOLFE, P.E. <br />Per a 1:30 p.m. telephone conversation today with Phil H oeman, Permits Manager, at CDPHE- <br />Water Quality Control Division, the WQ®has no restrictions or regulations requiring that detained <br />storm water (such as runoff into a gravel pit) be released to the stream synem within a specific <br />amount of time after impoundment. However, if the water was not diverted or captured in priority, <br />Colorado Water Law requires it be released, or replacements for evaporation will be required of the <br />impounder/operator. <br />
