FOOTNOTES - APPLICABLE TO PRECEDING PAGES <br />a/ - The thirty (30) day average shall be determined by the arithmetic <br /> mean of all samples collected during a thirty (30) consecutive-day <br /> period. Samples shall sot be used for more than one (1) reporting <br /> period. fNot applicable to fecal eoliform determinations -please <br /> see footnote m/.2 <br />b! - The seven (7) day average shall be determined by the arithmetic mean <br /> of all samples taken in a seven (7) day period. Samples may sot be <br /> used for more than one (1) reporting period. (Not applicable to <br /> fecal coliform determinations - please see footnote m/.) <br />c/ - This limitation shall be determined by a single sample or set of <br /> samples as required by Part I.B., Sample Type. <br />d/ - When the measurement frequency indicated is quarterly, the samples <br /> shall be collected during March, June, September and December, if a <br /> continual discharge occurs. If the discharge is intermittent, then <br /> samples shall be collected during the period that discharge occurs. <br /> If the permittee, using the approved analytical methods, monitors <br /> any parameter more frequently than required by this permit, then the <br />7 results of such monitoring shall be included is the calculation sad <br />reporting of the values required in the Discharge Monitoriag.Report <br /> Form or other forme as required by the Division. Such increased <br /> frequency shall also be indicated. <br />e/ - Definitions of Sample Type <br /> 1. A "composite" sample, for monitoring requirements, is a minimum <br /> of four C4) grab samples collected at equally spaced tvo (2) <br /> hour intervals sad proportioned according to floe. <br /> 2. A "grab" sample, for monitoring requirements, is a single "dip <br /> and take" sample. <br /> 3. An "instantaneous" measurement, for monitoring requirements, is <br /> a single reading, observation, or measurement performed oa site. <br /> 4. A 'continuous" measurement', for floe monitoring requirements, is <br /> a measurement obtained from as automatic recording device Which <br /> continually measures flow. <br /> 5. A "visual" observation, for oil and grease monitoring <br /> requirements, is observing the discharge to check for the <br /> presence of a visible sheen or floating oil. <br /> 6.
