COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH,
Rationale - Page 2. Permit No
III. RECEIVING STREAM
1.
l
CJ
Water Quality Control Division
CO-0032115.
A. Identification, Classification and Standards
1. Identification: Discharge is to Johnson Gulch, Middle Pyeatt
Gulch, E. Pyeatt Gulch, and W. Pyeatt Gulch, which are all
tributary to the Yampa River, and Ute Gulch, which is tributary to
the Williams Fork River. All of these gulches are in segment 3b of
the Lower Yampa River. Discharge is also to E. Buzzard Gulch, Far
E. Buzzard Gulch, W. Buzzard Gulch, Coyote Gulch, and No-Name
Gulch, which are all tributary to the Yampa River, segment 3a of
the Lower Yampa River. Discharge is also to Elk Gulch and Deer
Gulch, which are tributary to the Williams Fork River, segment 3a
of the Lower Yampa River. The distance from the discharge points
to the Yampa or Williams Fork Rivers is at least 1.7 miles for all
points.
2. Classification: 3a and 3b - These stream segments are classified
for the following uses: Recreation, Class 2; Aquatic Life, Class 2
(Warm); Agriculture.
3. Numeric Standards: The standards which have been assigned in
accordance with the above classifications can be found in 3.7.0,
Classifications and Numeric Standards for the Lower Colorado River
Basin (5 CCR 1002-8) (effective 3/30/91). I[ should be noted that
this facility does not discharge pollutants which are limited by
water quality standards with the exception of pH.
B. Receiving Water Data
1. Stream Low Flow: The flows which will be used to calculate
effluent limitations are acute flows, those that occur for one day
every three years (lE3), or chronic, those that occur for thirty
days every three years (30E3). These flows have been determined by
the Water Quality Control Division and are as follows:
Johnson Gulch, No-Name Gulch, Middle Pyeatt Gulch, E. Pyeatt Gulch,
W. Pyeatt Gulch, E. Buzzard Gulch, Far E. Buzzard Gulch, W. Buzzard
Gulch, Coyote Gulch, Ute Gulch, Elk Gulch, and Deer Gulch -
Type Flow
Acute (lE3): _ 0 cfs
Chronic (30E3): 0 cfs
2. Impacts on Downstream Water Supplies or Other Receiving Waters:
The discharge is not expected to have any impact on downstream
users or segments, provided compliance with effluent limitations is
achieved.
~/
