Mine inflows were down 10 per cent from the previous year; while estimated
consumptive use was up very slightly. Surface water flows were also very
low. The data all appear to reflect the below-normal precipitation
experienced in recent years in the area. Water levels in monitoring wells
were slightly lower. Ground water quality, although generally quite poor, has
not deteriorated over time.
I also reviewed the first-half 1990 Twin Pines report, and found nothing very
remarkable. The report complies with Sitpulations 1 and 2, modified by
TR-O1. No ground water impacts are evident, there were no NPDES exceedances
during the period, and mine water was pumped to the surface at a fairly
constant rate of 38 GPM.
WBC/yjb
0220E
