Agriculture (cropland and <br />livestock grazing) is the primary post-mining land use, with wildlife habitat as a secondary and incidental <br />use. <br />As detailed in permitting documents, revegetation success for Phase II bond release is dependent <br />upon comparison with the established reference area for ground cover (sagebrush /grassland type only) <br />and technical standards for production (irrigated hayland type). The reference area is located <br />approximately 2 miles east of the mine site (see Map 2) and encompasses an island of big sagebrush <br />steppe within a larger unit of pinon-junper woodland and mountain brush.
