CASTLE CONCRETE COMPANY <br />SNYDER QUARRY 77-210 <br />EXHIBIT D <br />MINING PLAN <br />Mining of the Snyder Quarry is a combination of <br />open pit and underground mining. The open pit provides access <br />to the underground adits. Mining at this quarry will las= between <br />78 to 80 years. Mining will be deeper in the basin alreac9y <br />disturbed except for a number of very minor disturbances where vent <br />holes surface in the forested area within the 80 acre mining tract. <br />Included in the 27 acres affected land are 0.8 acres of leind included <br />for roads and the future air vents from the underground m_.ne. Each <br />vent will occupy about 35 square feet of disturbed land. The mining <br /> plan map, Exhibit C, shows the approximate location of they next <br />(~ air vent. The actual location and size of this and futures vents will <br /> be reported to the Mined Land Reclamation Board by means of a <br />technical revision to be submitted within a reasonable period from <br />date of the air vent construction. <br />HISTORY OF MINE - Limestone mining at this site has occurred for a <br />very long time. The first mining occurred late in the last <br />century and continued off and on until Castle Concrete Company <br />moved into the site. Within a mile radius of the quarry many small <br />excavations and prospects can be found. Showing that the area has <br />continued to have a long history of interest in mining limestone. <br />Castle Concrete Company first began mining at this <br />site in 1970. Since then the quarry has expanded to its <br />present size and a large volume of limestone has already <br />been removed. All land included as affected land under this <br />permit was affected prior to July 1, 1473. The remaining reserves <br />S-D-1* <br />
