EXPLANATORY ADDENDUM
• EXHIBIT I
SOILS
SNYDER QUARRY 77-210
F. Exhibit I - Soils
1) The growth medium which will actually be used on the
site must have an analysis done.
RESPONSE F1. The growth medium is composed of the
materials studied in the soil analyses done by the CSU lab and
the Lincoln-Devore study. The studies already addressed in the
application seem adequately to show that the medium can support
growth when properly treated.
2) According to Rule 6.Sa., "In those areas where rev~getation
~ . is part of the reclamation plan, land shall be revegetated in such
a way as to establish a diverse, effective, and long-lasti.ig
vegetative cover that is capable of self-regeneration.
Without continued dependence or irrigation, soil amendments
or fertilizer, and is at least equal in extent of cover to the
natural regetation of the surrounding area." Please demon:atrate
that the vegetation being planted will maintain itself and
regenerate without continued dependence on soil amendments or
fertilizer. In other words, since there is no organic mat~:er
in the growth medium to be used and none will be added, show proof
that the soil will be able to provide all necessary nutrients.
•
S-I-S*
