borrow area for construction of the pipeline is anticipated
through 1981 and during the construction season of 1982 and
possibly 1983. On completion of major uses of the borrow
area, the reclamation plan implementation would begin, more
than likely in late 1983 or 1984. The face of the borrow
area will be left open and will continue to be used as a source
of material for project maintenance. However, all the other
areas will be reclaimed with the exception of the working face
and an area immediately adjacent to the working face.
GEOLOGY
The geology of the borrow area is described in terms of
overburden, material to be mined, and underlying layers.
The overburden is a deep soil expected to reach depths of 4
feet. Underlying the overburden topsoil is an aggregate
strata which is the material to be mined. This strata is
1 estimated to be 30 to 40 feet deep. Underlying the aggregate
strata is additional aggregate which will not be mined. No
mining operations are anticipated below the level of the
existing streams on the east and west sides of the borrow area.
~~
LJ

~'

~~
' D-2
