Long
Division Direcor
The Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG) has reviewed the 4th quarter 2001
Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMR) for the Lorencito Canyon mine, CDPS permit CO-
0045080. Self-monitoring of some of these outfalls commenced after pond
construction during the quarter as a result of mine start-up.
Please contact the Water Quality Control Division to ensure that the proper discharge
monitoring report forms are used. Fourth quarter forms submitted to DMG indicate old
oUtfalls that have since been modified under the current mine plan (PR-01).
Additionally, DMG requires revised CDPS permit pages for inclusion in Exhibit 21 of the
Lorencito mining permit application. Please send this information as soon as it is
available.
We have no further questions at this time.
