Section 778.17 (a) Continued.
Revised 11/20/80
The proposed timetable for each phase of mining and reclamation
including the anticipated number of acres of land to be affected is
shown in Table 2, Affected Areas for `lining and Reclamation. This
Tab Le covers the entire area to be mined because the amount of
disturbance proposed during the five-vear permit term will roughly
coincide with the extent of the total area to be disturbed within
the mine plan area due to the nature of the proposed pit and the
preparatory work required prior to actual overburden removal.
(b) If the applicant proposes to conduct the surface mining activities
in excess of 5 years, the application shall contain the information
needed for the showing required under 30 CFA 786.25(a).
Although the permit herein applied for will expire and be subject
to renewal five years from the date of issuance, this application
is full and complete for the entire mine life and corresponding
Mine Plan Area. Two to three years of mining will remain at the
termination of the initial permit, but because the steady state pit
conditions require approximately 5,600 linear feet of active mining
area to be open at any given time, 90 X of the total surface dis-
turbance to take place within the Mine Plan Area will occur during
the first five years as shown on Map 31a, Kerr "tine Area Soil Re-
moval and Storage. Additionally, because of the extent of distur-
bance all drainage control facilities will be installed during the
first five years. Due to the above-mentioned facts, Ketr Coal
requests that the permit boundary be coincident with the Mine Plan
Area and has structured this application accordingly.
Section 778.18 Personal Injury and Property Damage Insurance Infor-
oration. ~~~4,~~1.234S6,>~
~ `
778-26 as ~ ~~'1-'Di381
APPRUVEa
OSHA-DO9
