state Rea.
• sat~led for the surface water parameter long list presented in Table
7-85. The rama;nirv~ chrvam al]d NPDES sites are sampled for the short
list presented in Table 7-86. 'These parameter lists were initially
approved by the Ci+1GD in April 1984 after their review of the historic
surface water data presented in the 1983 AHR.
A spoils spring survey was performed on reclaimed lards in the
fall of 1985. Nine spoils springs have been located within the
permit boundary. As requested by Ct~II,RD, Peabody will conduct a
spring aryl seep survey of the mine each spring after the mine has
dried out, oonm~encirg during the spring of 1990. A map identifying
the sprite and seep sites will be provided in the Seneca II AEIIts.
Spoils springs flow will be monitored every spring, and field
parameters will be measured when flows exceed three gallons per
minnrte. Springs #1, #2, #3, and #5, which dicrhaTme from imdi-~+*~bed
areas, will be monitored annually in the spring for flow, field
• parameters, and long parameter list surface water quality.
Monitoring of Spring #4 was discontinued upon receipt of a letter
from Sandy F]m~ich of C6ffI2D dated April 26, 1984 stating that only
springs within the permit botnxlary need to be monitored.
Zb a~eoaa possible mining impacts to Fish Creek, Spoils Spring #1 is
monitored for the long list concasrently with Site SS+1-S2-6 arri is
monitored biweekly arr] concisrently with Site NPDFS 004 for flora aryl
field paramieters from March through Jame.
In addition, foes stream monitoring sites located within the Fish
Creek drainage were established in May 198. Ztao sites are located
orr Fish Creek, one immediately above the Cow Camp Creek confluence
with Fish Creek (5N86W15AC) aryl one i~~iately below the Hoed Creek
confluence with Fish Creek (5N86W3DD). The remaining two sites were
established near the mouth of Cow Cam Creek and Hond Creek. The
locations of these sites are shown on T~dribit 7-2.
