state Recs.
• monitored at two sites: 17-W and 19-W. Both wells are located
downgradient of minim.
Well 17-W is located near the Wadge ~ourdme_*+*, and Grater samples
oollectzd at this site have a NaCaMq-SO4 Grater type. ~e Wadge dal
arni i fer at this site receives rec2~arge fxYau the Wadge T~~TM~*+t
(which receives di.sc2]aLye fray the spoils aquifer) an3 the Little
GYas.~y Creek alluvium. 29S om~esrtrations at well 17-W have been
increasing since 1980, which is to be expected considering the
sources of recharge far the Wadge Coal aquifer in this area.
Well 19-W is located south of the Wadge T+~~+++~*+t. Wadge Coal
aquifer water quality at this site is quite different than seen at
Gre11 17-W; the water type is Na-HO03, arri 295 levels are
amrYnr+n+ately one-third of those mr~~TM~ at 17-1+1 and show a very
slight decreasing trerrl. It should be noted that the water quality
• obseLVed at 19-W is quite similar to the water quality +~+e~~ +**~ at
other Wadge
mining. Coal monitoring wells that were later destro yed by
Wolf Creek Overbuzcien/Wadge Underburden Aquifer. 2Yn'ee Wells
presently monitor water quality, in the Wolf Creek Over2xut3en/Wadge
Underburien aquifer: 7-W00, SPl-U, and S11-U.
Well 7-WN is located downdip frcan the Wolf Creek pit area, and water
samples from this site are distinctly different than those fr®n wells
8P1-U aryl S11-U. A CaMg-504 water type is present at 7-FICO. 29.5
values at 7-WCO have declined since 1987 when a peak 29S level of
1600 mg/1 was a~eastn:~ed; the 1991 water year average 29S concentration
was 1233 mq/1.
Water quality at wells 8P1-U aryl Sil-U are quite similar. Both wells
show a Na-H0D3 Grater type; 29S concentrations are stable and range
• between 600 to 700 ug/1.
Wolf Creek Coal Aquifer.
