8. Hydrologic Data
1. Introduction
Hydrologic data collected at the Seneca II Mine since 1986 are
presented and discussed in the following section. ~~enerally,
data collected from October 1, 1986 (the start of the 1967 water
year) through September 30, 1991 (the close of the 1991 water
year) are considered, although in some cases the entire historic
database is presented.
2. Ground Water Data
a. Ground Water Levels.
Water level measurements collected at all Seneca II wells from
January 1, 1980 through September 30, 1991 are presented in
Appendix 7-2A. Water level hydrographs for each well are also
provided.
Exhibit 7-2A, "Potentiometric Contour Map of the Wadge and Wolf
Creek Coal Aquifers and Water Table Contour Map of the Spoils",
has been updated as Exhibit 7-2B to reflect water level changes
since 1986 and to show newly-constructed monitoring wells. Wells
that have been destroyed by mining activities have been removed
from the map. As can be seen on Exhibit 7-2B, only minor changes
in the potentiometric/water table surfaces have occurred since
1986.
Detailed discussions of ground water levels can be found in the
Seneca II Annual Hydrology Reports (AHRs) submitted annually to
the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology.
b.
