As you are aware, we suspect that these high pH values are directly
caused by naturally occurring algae blooms in the pond. To date, information
we have gathered from algal enumeration, chlorophyll and nutrient analyses supports
this theory. A findings report of our algae study will be sent to you as soon es
our most recent samples have been analyzed and interpreted.
The two (2) total suspended solids (TSS) excursions dated April 4 and April 16
were due to the naturally high TSS concentrations in the spring snow melt runoff.
As committed to you in Jay Mednick's April 12, 1985 letter to you, we have resurveyed
the pond. As soon as we have finished working up the field notes, we will let
you know if the pond still meets the proper sediment storage design criteria.
If you have any questions, please call.
Sincerely,
~~ `."`
J.
