TCC believes an error occurred in advising that the total
dissolved solids limit had been exceeded during the quarter. A review of the permit and prior
DMR's indicated that there is not a total dissolved solids limit in the permit. However, somehow
the DMR for this point was printed up and sent to TCC with a 30~1ay average limit of 1700 mgA.
This was brought to the Division's attention previously, see letter of March 1, 1996 from Karl
Koehler to the Division. Along these lines i have attached a revised copy of the third quarter
DMR reflecting that a total dissolved solids exceedance did not occur.
Perhaps it would be beneficial to supply a new set of DMR's for this point that does not show a
30~ay average limit of 1700 mg/I. The only requirement is to report the daily maximum
concentration for total dissolved solids.
1 apologize for any confusion this may have caused and look forward to receiving your thoughts
on the above proposal.
Sincerely,
l~
~G s CJ;'~' "` l
Richard Mills
Environmental Manager
Attachment
File:l: \en\environmental\dmr\ 1998\permit42 161 \letters\Ihirdquartcr98reviseddmr.doc
