We were not
objecting to the project as a whole, but would like to make sure that our concerns aze
taken into consideration before approval is given.
One of our concerns as a Conservation District is to protect the irrigation canals and the
water quality in those canals. We are sure that contact with the Boulder & Weld County
Ditch Company has been onging and that they have expressed their concerns over the
excavation around their canal.
The other concern is a noxious weed problem that occurs around a mining operation. We
suggest that you contact the Weld County Weed District at (970) 356-4000 x3770 to
obtain a guideline for a noxious weed management pian.
Sincerely, ~t
Nancy McIntyre, District Manager
Longmont Conservation District
CONSERVATION-DEVELOPMENT -SELF GOVERNMENT
