!~ - <br />Informal Conference NOTES D' `~ c~ <br />19 individuals on sign-up sheet +DMG staff j' <br />Additional comments raised verbally during the Informal Conference included the <br />following: <br />Are all issues characterized by DMG staff as being non-jurisdictional actually <br />jurisdictional? <br />Can the application be approved unless it complies with regulations for designated <br />mining operations? <br />Can the application be approved unless it complies with other Federal and State <br />laws? <br />Since the proposed operation will discharge groundwater, exposed by the <br />excavation activities, and process water, from the proposed material processing, to <br />the Dolores River, should not all downstream areas, including McPhee Reservoir, be <br />defined as "affected lands"? <br />Can the application characterize a nearby residence as a "camp"? <br />Will the final ponds, resulting from the excavation activity, create an "attractive <br />nuisance"? <br />Will nearby wetlands be adversely affected by the proposed activities? <br />Will the proposed operation need a "404 permit" from the US Army Corps of <br />Engineers? <br />Does the application provide a list of chemicals to be utilized at the proposed site? <br />Any new issues raised verbally at the Informal Conference must be submitted to DMG in <br />writing by 4:00 p.m., March 22, 2001. <br />
