' 6.3 Maintenance and Administration Area
As indicated eariier, the ownership of these facilities has been transferred to the
' CCNRCS. BMRI does not own or operate these areas and therefore, this stormwater
' management plan does not address these locations. Should stormwater from these
locations enter BMRI property, BMRI will manage the water within the identified
stormwater facilities.
6.4 Fuel Storage and Refueling Area
Source
The primary source for potential pollution in this area is from fuel spilled during
refueling operations. Erosion is also possible, since this azea is unpaved.
Risk Assessment
Refueling operations present the highest and primary risk of contamination to stormwater
runoff in this area as opposed to the leaking of storage tanks.
Applicable BMPs and Good Housekeeping Practices
Caze must be taken to preclude accidental spills in this azea. The BMP provided for the
fuel storage area is the containment berm surrounding the elevated fuel tanks. The
following BMPs and general housekeeping practices will further reduce the possibility of
contamination:
1. Fuel tanks will not be "topped off' as this will promote spilling of excess fuel
and expansion of fuel during the summer months will result in fuel spills.
2. Absorbent material will be stored on-site for use with any spills.
3. Fueling hoses, nozzles, and piping will be checked regularly for damage,
leaks, and repaired as necessary.
Site personnel provide maintenance of this area on a routine and ongoing basis.
Bartle Mountain Resources, /nc.
