Box 3700 Loveland, CO 80539-3003 DEC 19 1894 Mr. Gary Curtis Division of Minerals and Geology Room N215 1313 Sherman Street Denver, CO 80203 Dear Mr. Curtis: pE~E~~ED D~'~ 2~ 1984 division of M~erdis ~ Ueoio9Y As a result of the gravel mining operation conducted on and adjacent to the United States easement for the Hayden-Ault 345-kV transmission line across property owned by Doyle Russell in Section 3, T.9N., R.68W., we are providing you with the Western Area Power Administration's (Western) requirements for mining operations conducted on United States transmission line easements. 1. This office should be contacted prior to any construction or mining activities on United States easements and application should be made for a License Ayreement approving the intended encroachment on said easements. 2. The mining plat should plainly show the width of the easement area and state: "The United States easement is a restricted area and all construction or mining activities should be coordinated with WESTERN AREA POWER ADMINISTRATION, P.0. Box 3700, Loveland, CO 80539-3003. 3. An undisturbed island with a radius of not less than 50 feet shall be maintained around each transmission line structure at all times. 4. The United States shall have continuous and unimpeded roadway access to the transmission line structures at all times. 5. Clearance from the conductors as set forth in the National Electric Safety Code shall be maintained at all times. 6. No buildings are allowed within the easement area. The United States easement across the Doyle Russell property is 175 feet (87.5 feet each side of centerline). Since this is a 345-kV line the required I~ '~
