<br />1 <br />' Section 2.04.3 General Requirements: Site Description and <br />Land Use Information. <br />' (1) Existing premining environmental resources that may be <br />affected or impacted by the mining activities. <br />' Prior to initiation of mining activity, the area was undeveloped <br />land. Its sole use was for rangeland grazing and as a wildlife <br />' habitat. There was no development on the land prior to the <br />mining operation. <br />' (2) Statement of condition, capability and productivity of the <br /> land within those areas affected by surface operations. <br /> <br /> (a) Use of land at time of filing the application. <br />' The use of the land is shown on the h:ap, Existing Land Use, <br /> 2.04.3(2)(a). This use is consistent with the mining <br />' operations since 1934. Structures house the mine office, shops, warehouse, <br />' bathhouse, and coal handling facilities. Haul roads are used <br /> for transporting coal, equipment and personnel on the site. <br /> <br /> Iistoric use of the area of the portal and haul road constructed <br />' in 1980 is undeveloped land. The area is on a steep face, <br /> steeper than l:l average, has a narrow bench between the hillside <br /> and the river, and is within 1700 feet of the main mine activity. <br /> The land is classified as undeveloped land fo.r historic use <br />' since 1934. <br /> (b) t7arrative of land capability and productivity. <br /> <br />1 <br />' 23 <br />
