Storm Exemption - 001, 008, 010, 012, 013, 014 (c:ont.) <br />In addition, if discharge occurs as a result of 'the 10-year, 24-hour <br />storm volume being exceeded and the permittee wishes to claim an <br />exemption from technology based effluent limitations, the permittee <br />shall submit, within 5 days of the said discharge, documentation that <br />the facilities were maintained to contain or treat the previously <br />specified volumes. The permittee must also submit documentation of <br />the storm event, including the precipitation recorded at the closest <br />official precipitation gauge station (or the permittee's own gauge), <br />the volume of storm runoff produced and the steps taken to maintain <br />treatment sad minimize the amount of overflow. <br />All data/documentation required by this section which can not: be <br />reported on applicable discharge monitoring report forma (DFOt's) shall <br />be reported in letter form as an attachment to the DMR. <br />Submittal of documentation of containment, maintenance and <br />precipitation records above does not ezempt the permittee from the <br />notification requirements of PART II.A.3. of this permit. <br />5. Change in Discharge - Notification - 001, 008 and OIO, <br />The permittee may change the status of any of the above listed <br />discharge paints from having only surface runoff as the source to <br />adding mine water. To make this change, the permittee is required to <br />notify the Division 180 days prior to the change taking place. Public <br />notice of the amendment is required. <br />Such notification by the permittee shall include: <br />- the discharge point in question; <br />- the source(s) of wastewater; <br />- the estimated volume, in MGD; and <br />- the estimated length of time such dewatering will occur with <br />relation to this discharge point. <br />If the permittee desires to reverse the process, and eliminate the <br />mine water as a source at a discharge point, the same procedure for <br />amending a permit must be followed. The permittee must be able to <br />document that nA significant amount of mine water remains i.n the <br />sediment pond(s) in question. <br />
