~. <br />CONCLIISION <br />The results of this test suggests that the acute toxicity exhibited <br />by Somerset Mining effluent is due to the high alkalinity. It <br />should be noted however, that there are no current maximum <br />alkalinity limits on Somerset effluent. It is also pointed out <br />that the alkalinity in Somerset discharge may have little effect on <br />the Gunnison River organisms due to river dilution.
