The results indicate the <br />presence of selenium at 0.069 mg/L which is above the 0.02 mg/L NPL established by the <br />permit. It is important to note that no selenium was detected in the A-pit which is down gradient <br />from C-pit. A copy of the analytical results is enclosed. <br />As this is the first time selenium has been detected, CEMEX intends to conduct confirmatory <br />resampling to determine if in fact this is due to a sampling or analytical error. This sampling <br />will be conducted on May 19, 2004.
