• 2.05.3(3)
Fuel Storage/Transfer Area
Fuel and hydraulic oil are stored in this area. In order to prevent
spillage of oil on the surface during oil transfer operations, the
Operator utilizes a 150 gallon tanker to haul the oil to the
underground equipment. Distributions to the equipment is completed
underground to minimize any spillage which might occur on the surface,
Also, utilization of the 150 gallon tanker trailer minimizes the
number of oil transfers required. In some instances where it is
impractical to service equipment with the tanker, equipment will be
serviced by 55 gallon drums. The drums will be filled at the fuel
storage/transfer area.
During July 1992, the fuel storage area was refurbished. The area was
cleaned up and reconstructed in accordance with Map 14, Oil Storage
Area. A BENTOMAT "SS" liner was installed under the storage area to
prevent seepage of oil into the alluvium.
Coal Screening Plant
A coal screening plant may be installed in the coal stockpile area as
shown on Mine Facilities Map No. 10 at some future date. The primary
purpose of the screening plant is to reduce the amount of the fines
in the coal that is hauled to the Terror Creek Loadout. Raw coal will
be screened to split the coal at about 1/4". The minus 1/4" coal will
• be returned to the raw coal pile. The plus 1/4" coal will be placed
in a sized coal pile on the west end of the existing raw coal pile and
subsequently hauled to the Terror Creek Loadout.
The screening plant will consist of three conveyors and an Allis
Chalmers, Aero-Vibe, 4' X 8' vibrating screen. The three conveyors;
1) feed; 2) product; and 3) reject are custom fabricated and therefore
are not part of a "manufactured" screening plant.
The plant will be fed with the use of a front end loader placing
unsized coal directly on the screen or by the front end loader
transporting coal to the feed conveyor. The reject (fine) coal will
be transported to the unsized coal pile with the use of a conveyor or
the front end loader. The sized (coarse) coal will be transported to
the sized coal pile with the use of a conveyor or front end loader.
The screening plant will not be installed on concrete foundations and
therefore will be portable. The screening plant will be periodically
moved to "fit" the raw coal stockpile.
Wash Slab
During 1996 the operator intends to construct an equipment wash area
on the northeast corner of the shop as shown on Map 10. The wash area
will be a 6-inch thick reinforced concrete slab which measures
approximately 26' X 30'.
• 2.05-18a Rev. 01-31-96
