Cattany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
The Division of Minerals and Geology has completed review of the 1st quarter reporting
submitted for the sediment pond, discharge monitoring reports, and waste pile at the Raton
Creek Mine, #C-82-055. Please consider our comments and make any necessary changes or
adjustments in future reporting to the Division.
Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMR) -The DMR's submitted and reviewed reflects observations
consistent with Division monthly inspections. No discharge from the single sediment pond was
recorded and/or sampled in the 151 quarter.
Sediment Pond Inspection- The report also demonstrates compliance with Rule 4.05.9(17) for
impoundments. Observations are consistent with field observations noted during Division
inspections periodically throughout the year. Other observations include measurement of the
water level in the luppa well and the refuse well.
Waste Pile Inspections -The report meets the requirements under Rule 4.09.1(11) and
4.10.2(2).
We have no further questions or comments at this time.
