(9) Groundwater monitoring station W-1 was monitored twice
for the full list of parameters, once during baseline
water quality test and once in June of 1994. Therefore
it is difficult to determine whether there has been an
impact and whether or not the quality is improving.
(10) Groundwater station W-5, is shown to have elevated
amounts of pH, conductivity, TDS, bicarbonate, calcium,
magnesium, ammonia, and iron, in comparison with the
1985 baseline data. The problem parameters are
presented in the table below. A table is included in
the back of the report that compares the baseline data
to the data from 1989 to the present, with a full list
of elements.
Parameters Baseline Avg. of
last 3 yrs.
pH 6.3 7.63
Conduc. 620 909.33
TDS 435 618
Bicarb. 242 708
Ca 93 176.33
Mg 29 47.67
Amm. .07 .53
Fe .13 22.3
14 Chimney Rock Coal Mine AHR
