• Subsidence Monitoring -2- November 1994
additional subsidence monitoring, the control points and
subsidence monitoring stations will be readily available.
The following narrative explains the status of each monitoring
station:
Station UA1
Change in elevation July 1986 - July 1994 -1.14 feet. The
influence area for monitoring station UA1 lies above the main
entries, panel 8, the first west mains and unmined panel 20. The
graph of station UA1 shows a slight dip shortly after the pillars
were extracted from panel 8. The area of influence was mined last
in March 1993. The influence area of station UA1 is no longer over
any active mining areas. If and when the main entries are pillared
and panel 20 is mined, the elevation of this station will probably
decrease a measurable amount. However, there are no structures or
renewable resource lands within the area of influence of station
UA1. Therefore, monitoring of subsidence station UA1 will be
• suspended.
Station UT2
Change in elevation July 1986 - July 1994 -3.26 feet. The
influence area for monitoring station UT2 lies above the first west
mains and panels 9, 10 & 11. The graph of station UT2 shows a
noticeable dip after the pillars were extracted from the panels.
The area of influence was mined last in November 1992. The
influence area of station UT2 is no longer over any active mining
areas. There are no structures or renewable resource lands within
the area of influence of station UT2. Therefore, monitoring of
subsidence station UT2 will be suspended.
Station U1
Change in elevation July 1986 - July 1994 -1.68 feet. The
influence area for monitoring station U1 lies above the first west
mains, the main entries and panels 8 & 9. The graph of station U1
shows a slight dip shortly after the pillars were extracted from
the panels. The area of influence was mined last in March 1993.
• The influence area of station U1 is no longer over any active
mining areas. If and when the main entries are pillared, the
