MINED LAND~LDLIFr °'"'"""- )ATION ~vised) <br />for limited impact arl - mine applica[ic <br />The following information pertaining to wildlife is provided for use <br />Reclamation Board in their consideration of a mining permit for: <br />Fountain Sand and Gravel/Sand and Gravel/SE} of SE} of Sec. 32, SW} of ' <br />Name/Type and Location of Mine (Legal) a small part of 1 <br />Sec. 5 and the NW} of the NW} of Sec. 4, T215, R64W of tt <br />T.'ildlife Species list: <br />Cottontail rabbit, jackrabbit, red fox, coyote, raccoon, striped skunk, <br />small mammals; kestral, merlin, red-tailed hawk, Swain son's hawk, Marsh <br />pheasant, great blue heron, Canada geese, numerous species of ducks, ki] <br />assorted shorebirds (primarily during migration), magpie, great horned c <br />red-headed, hairy and downy woodpeckers, plus numerous other small bird: <br />Endangered/critical species/impacted: <br />None Known. <br />Critical habitats/vegetative communities impacted: <br />The main habitat impacted will be the Arkansas Riverbottom, which is vec <br />tamarisk, both mature and new growth cottonwood, Russian olive with an i <br />variety of grasses and herbaceous plants. Much of the understory is deg <br />due to periodic flooding when the river is flowing at top capacity when <br />dam gates are fully opened in the spring and summer. A small creek flog <br />Assessmetn[ o~himpac~rea to be mined. <br />The riverbottom habitat in the mined area will be eliminated.
