PETITION TO P• TEST SPECIAL-USE PERMIT FROM PUEBLO
COUNTY
We, the undersigned, strongly protest any mining in the azea of Pueblo County commonly referred to as
Peck's Canyon and owned by Douglas and Kelly Park. We request that Pueblo Counry deny the request
by Siloam Stone for the special use permit they have requested in order to allow this area to be mined for
Landscape rock materials. Peck's Canyon is a beautifiil and unique place on earth. The mining activity
proposed by Siloam Stone could destroy the beauty of this azea, with no chance for reclarnation to its
original state. The spring-fed deep-rock pools are fitll year-round. TLey provide the watering hole for
area wildlife. Because this area is a natural wetland. it is home to a plethora ofplant and wildlife species
not seen elsewhere in the area. The canyon is also known state-wide by rock climbers. Mining this
canyon would be tragic, and may destroy one ofthe most beautifiil and unique places in Pueblo County.
Again, by signing this petition, we protest any mining activity in this azea, and strongly urge that the
special use permit mentioned above be denied.
Printed Name Signature Address
t ~ / STN
i , i/ t ~'
~!r ~ ~ `~ •
~• ~
_ ~u ray.,.
t-
~ O / u
tit. ~ hP.• 1.~~,.,..~.,~ l:?i Ali ~ siaui
G~-

Z i = Ln~Roo.~ -,,.~..c-v- ~u~- -~i~ t/I S Yd i Ln, c i6Zz
J . ~_ ~ ~-
•~,5 cr,Le- , ~ 'o ~A ~r
.~ ~~~'U ~
,.~. l
~,
n X10
~- o / re / S~ ar /~YZ N c i .

~ n ~'1 u. s < <, ~ ti 09a ~ ~~a ~~ ~i 4~ ~
~. i
i
~ h

~~ '~ M P~ S .
