_ MERta~A~nU~~ .
TO; G;•+ .yens, DRC;ossett HATE: 12/21/79
FROST: GPSaurciers RE: Kerr *Sine Pump Test
Results
On Dece^:ber 11 and 19, 19'9, two pump tests were run in the
22777 lease area. One test was run on well. 028-79-36 near the vault
in E~ush Dra;•: and file other was run on well 023-79-14 in an unfaulted
area rear the Suddu~h Sine.
The first test on •.,ell 028-79-35 was a step - dr3crdown 'pest
of the entire saturate3 t:,ickness of the Sudduth coal seam, using
?Corr ::-e11 028-79-61 and TJ.S.G.S. ~~~ell UH-4 for observation. Dr_w-
dUl•:n wd5 measured for p;i~rging rates of 5, 10 and 20 gallons Her
minute. The rate of pur±ping was limi*_ed by the size of the sub=
mersible p:~~p. Total pumping tine ;vas.I20'miautes; and recover:
was reasured for 60 minutes. Graphs ~1, 2 and 3 show drawdown
an3 recovery in wells 028-79-36 and 028-79-61. ?dell DH-4 did not
react to the test. Results were an average transmissivity of!:Z51.7
2
ft /dap, per:leability of 2.2 ft/day, an3 storage coefficient o= .
/,77
3:96-s 10 4. These numbers mear. that the coal sea*.n is a confined,
artesian aquifer of relatively goo3 nermeabilit~~. The cone of depres-
sion frog the numbed well intercepted an impermeable boundary after
14 minutes of pumping, probably the fault which strikes northeast -
southwest in Bush Drava.
