Rule 2: Permits
Alluvial Wells
Alluvial wells designated for monitoring are listed in Table 2.05.6-14.
TABLE 2.05.6-9
LORENCITO CANYON MINE
ALLUVIAL WELL MONITORING SITES
Site Reason for Monitorin Status
MWJC-1 Surface Mine Active
MWLC-1 Surface Mine Active
MWLC-2 Surface Mine Active
MWPC-1 Surface Mine Terminated
MWLO-E Loadout AVF Active
MWLO-W Loadout AVF Terminated
These alluvial wells will be monitored on asemi-annual basis in the second and fourth
quarters for field parameters and annually in the fourth quarter for analytical and
calculated values during final reclamation. Site MWL0.W has been terminated. The
surface owner constructed a gravel quarry west of the loadout location that resulted in the
abandonment and excavation of this well site. Monitoring of site MWPC-1 has been
terminated as the mine is now in final reclamation and mining related impacts never
occurred within the area of influence affecting site MWPC-l. The Miae loadout area is
• designated as a post mining industrial land use area. Upon achieving bond release for the
loadout, monitoring of MWLO-E will be terminated.
These sites will require monitoring for parameters as determined from the initial baseline
sampling. To determine these parameter the ~n_da.rtc were compared to the values
reported during the baseline period and those values which exceeded standards or were
within 80.0 of the lowest standards value were selected. The list of parameters in Table
2.05.6-15 is deemed adequate to monitor springs and seeps.
The parameters silver, cyanide, copper, mercury, and nitrate as N (dissolved) were not
included in this list since either the standards are less than the diction limit or no analyses
of these constituenLc were above the detection limits. Likewise lead (dissolved),
selenium (dissolved), and zinc (dissolved) have been removed from the lisle
•
2.05-108 (Revised 4/17/07)
