STATE OF COLORADO
Roy Romer, Govei
DEPARTMENT OFNATURAL RESOURCES
MINED LAND RECLAMATION DIVISION
FRED R. 13A NTA, Director
August 17, 1988
Mr. Harry D. Covey
479 County Road 83
Boulder, CO 80302
Re: Pfril Sheridan Lode Mining Permit Application
ML.RD File No. M-88-O81
Boulder County, Colorado
Dear Mr•. Covey:
Pursuant to Rule 2.34 of the Rules and Regulations, enclosed is a copy of a
protest. filed by Mr. Louis B. Feierabend pertaining to the above referenced
operation.
Concerr~s about local zoning codes, including regulations on aesthetics, noise,
and traffic, are issues that fall under the jurisdiction of the Boulder County
governrrient and as such are not addressed by the State. Compliance with local
zoning is required at the County level, but is not a prerequisite for State
permit issuance. I have passed along a copy of this objection and this letter
to Don Welch, Boulder County Land Use Department, P.O. Box 471, Boulder, 80306
for his review. Questions regarding local land use regulation should be
addressed to him.
I encourage you to contact the protestant to assure him of your compliance
with bcth State and Local land use regulations. Please do not hesitate to
contact me should you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Daniel I. Hernandez
Physical Scientist
DIH/ljt
Enclosure(s)
cc: Mr. Louis B.
