Enclosed please find American Soda's third Operational Quarterly Report in compliance with
Hard Rock Mining Operation Permit No. M-99-002. This document includes operational
analytical data and environmental ground water monitoring data collected and compiled
during our third quarter of operations, April 1, 2001 through June 30, 2001.
The ground water data summary report is spiral bound as anon-confidential document and
includes a comparison of the 3rd operational quarter with baseline and operational general
statistics prior to the reporting period. In addition, the tables provide information for
comparison of Ground Water Standards as provided in Regulation No. 41 of the Colorado
Department of Public Health and Environment Water duality Control Commission and
Numeryc Protective Levels and Early Warning Indicators.
Comparison of the data values with the Early Warning Indicators [EWI) and the Numeric
Protective Levels (NPL) is showing some values slightly above the established limits. These
values are summarized in Table 1 and highlighted in red in each of the summary tables
within the document. Included with this letter are five graphs illustrating the locations and
constituents that are slightly elevated above the established Numeric Protective Levels at
the designated point of compliance. These graphs include:
