Box 446 <br />Craig, Colorado 81626 <br />Re: ROCK PIT, File No. M-85-082 <br />Dear Messers Kney and Levkulich: <br />We have reviewed your Limited Impact Permit Application for adequacy with the <br />Minerals Law and promulgated rules and regulations. During this review, a <br />number of questions and concerns were raised, which are addressed below. <br />As addressed in an earlier correspondence, this application is scheduled <br />before the Mined Land Reclamation Bard for consideration at their August <br />21-22, 1985 meeting. So that we can review your replies, it is imperative <br />that you respond back point-by-point to the following by August 14, 1985. (As <br />addressed in our July 26, 1985, the board will waive $1,000.00 in civil <br />penalties if this application is considered by the Board at their August <br />meeting. Therefore, it is necessary that you respond by August 14th to insure <br />your application is not held up.) <br />Exhibit B -Mining Plan <br />1. Will the proposed permit boundaries be staked? If not, how will you <br />insure all operations remain within the nine acre permit boundary? <br />2. Prior to any mining, topsoil must be salvaged. To what depth will this <br />medium be salvaged for future reclamation purposes? Where will this stockpile <br />be located? If the stockpile is to remain for more than one growing season, <br />it must be sloped (to no steeper than 3h:ly) and seeded to protect the soil <br />from degradation. <br />3. Is that portion of the haul road directly leading to this pit included <br />in the permit? If not, please do add it in now. How wide and how long is <br />this road? <br />4. If no blasting will occur, how will the rock be broken up (ie will the <br />area be ripped)? <br />5.
