(2) Operating Description
The permit area and life-of-0peration plan aze coincident; therefore, the preceding
description of production methods and equipment applies.
(3) Mine Facilities
The former mine facilities are shown on Map 10, Surface Facilities and Roads. These
facilities are also listed on Table 16 -Surface Facilities list. Exhibit 19, Bond
Calculations, contains a detailed list of all facilities and respective construction types. All
mine facilities, except the river pumping station and two collection ponds were
demolished or sold for use off-site in 1996. Approval was granted by the Division for the
owner of water rights diverted by this pumping station to retain these facilities as part of
the approved post-mining land use.
Map 10, Surface Facilities and Roads, shows the location of all roads used for operation
of the Golden Eagle Mine. Roads within the permit boundary were classified as haul
roads, access roads, and light use roads. These roads were constructed as the mine
• facilities were established in 1976. Road specifications, including typical cross sections
for light use, access, and haul roads are provided on Map 10. The access and haul road
that Basin utilized to travel from the state highway to the surface facilities was designed
and constructed under permit from the Colorado Depaztment of Highways.
With the closure and final reclamation of the mine facilities all roads not consistent with
post-mining land uses were reclaimed. The remaining roads were retained and received
approved for classification as industrial use for access to potential sites of methane
production. The roads have since been bonded by the owner of the oil and gas estate with
the Oil and Gas Conservation Commission.
The underground workings that were developed during the operation of the Golden Eagle
Mine are shown on Map 3A, Mine Plan and 1998 Permit Boundary Revision. Figure 1,
General Stratigraphic Section of the Permit Area, shows the existing stratigraphy of the
area that may be affected by mining.

2.05-5 (Permit Renewal Reuisien - 3/3l/00)
RN ~03
