The revegetation effort will be monitored to determine if disease and pest control
measures are required. If it appears that revegetation efforts are hampered due to pests
and/or disease, the Soil Conservation Service or CSU Department of Range Science will
be contacted to determine the best method for control. Basin will submit a weed control
plan to the Division for approval prior to the use of any herbicides or pesticides.
Revegetation success will be measured utilizing the grassland reference area reviewed in
Section 2.04.10 of this application, and the AVF reference area established in 1998
during the mid-term permit review process. Significant vegetation studies have been
conducted by Basin and aze included in Exhibit 13, Vegetation Information. Discussion
of the selected reference azea with the disturbed azea is also reviewed in this Exhibit.
Locations of the reference areas are shown on Map 3B -Revised Permit Boundary and
Disturbance Area. The reference areas are fenced to minimize disturbance by domestic
livestock. Monitoring and sampling of the revegetation effort and reference azeas will be
completed to determine the cover production and density of vegetation in the reclaimed
areas as it relates with the appropriate reference area.
All disturbed areas have been seeded and mulched. It is anticipated that any reseeding
will be minimal with seed and mulch to be hand-broadcast using the previously
• mentioned practices. More extensive azeas may utilized the seeder/mulcher machine.
• 2.05-19 (Permit Renewal Itevysien - 3/31/00)
/~f N -43
