Basin Resources utilized the recommendations found in Exhibit 20 of this permit in
completing revegetation.
I. Basin sampled redistributed topsoil and the remaining topsoil/subsoil material
at the topsoil borrow area for the following nutrients: pH. EC, N. P, K, OM,
SAR, and Fe.
2. Straw, spread at the rate of two (2) tons per acre, was used for mulch. Steeper
areas expected to be of higher potential for erosion were protected with either
erosion control netting, or protected with straw bale dikes placed on contour.
3. Unless untypically dry seasons are encountered, Basin Resources does not
intend to rely upon irrigation to establish meadow grazing lands in the area of
ponds 003, 004, and 005. This will provide an area more consistent with the
post-mining land use provided by a State Wildlife Area.
4. It is not anticipated that any additional coal processing waste will be produced
or redisturbed. If coal processing waste is re~xposed, this material will be
covered with four feet of nontoxic/noncombustable material to include at least
one foot of suitable topsoil material.
• The seed mixes used during revegetation are shown in Table 21, Seed Mixtures. Seeding
will occur when seasonal weather is most favorable, typically between August 15 to
November 15, and April 1 to June 1. Soil moisture and frozen soil conditions will be
considered in scheduling seeding activities.
•
2.05-17 (Permit Renewal 3tev>sion - 3/31/00)
/~N'03
