EXHIBIT B
SITE DESCRIPTION
FREMONT COIINTY'S PHANTOM CANYON (TELLER COIINTY) GRAVEL PIT
Mr. Rick Romano, Soil Conservationist with the IIaited States
Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service, Canon City
Field Office has visited the location and prepared a "Range Site
Description", "Vegetation Report" and "Reclamation Plaa" for the
site. These documents are included is this application.
From field observation, sad the study of aerial photographs and
topography maps the only man made structure within two hundred feet
of the site appears to be the Phantom Caayoa Road (aka Teller
County Road #86 and Fremont County Road #67). The maintenance of
Phantom Canyon Road is the reason for opening this pit.
Eightmile Creek to the East of the site is the only water resource
that could receive nay drainage from the site. To do so water
would have to cross the County maintained roadway, also it is the
County's intention to place berms where necessary to restrict
stormwaters from leaving the site. To our knowledge there is no
documentation available for flow rates, water table elevations or
water quality conditions is this area.
1 d... ..
__~.:a ..
