Surveying-
Ailey drilling and completion, well elevations (top of casing) end ground surface elevations will be first
estimated from 7.5-minute topographic maps, and will subsequently be surveyed. A measuring point on
the north side of the casing will be mazkcd or cut into the top of the casing.
4.4 Collect Water Level Deta
Water level elevations will be measured Pram the north side of the YVC casing, acwrding to standazd
operating procedures. Water levels will be monitored monthly, beginning in February, 1998, in all
alluvial monitothtg wells.
4.5 Collect Water Duality Data
4.5.1 Monthly Wafer Quality Measurements
Pield pazarneters {temperature, pH, and conductivity) will be measured monthly in all wells, in
conjunction with monthly water level sampling, beginning in February, 1998, This sampling will be
performed in conjunction with monthly water level measurements, which will be taken first. Wells will
be purged by submersible pump, inertial pump, or bailer until parameters stabilise, before monthly field
parameters nre measured,
4.5.2 Quarterly Water Quality Sampling
Water quality samples will be collected quarterly for laboratory analysis, beginning dtuing the Winter
quarter (February, 1998). "1'he wells will be sampled according to standard procedures for cnviroimtenlal
groundwater sampling. At least three well volumes will be purged using a larundfos submersible pump
in the 2-inch wells or an inertial pump (foot valve) in the 3/4-inch wells. Field parameters (temperature,
pII, and conductivity) will be tttonilored end pumping will continue until stabilisation is achieved or
until at lease six well volumes have been extracted. The standard operating procedure for monitoring
well purging is attached. When the well is adequateiy purged, the sample bottles will be filled according
to the standard operating procedures. The list of analyzes is given in the following table;
Prol•ct 14890.980208 g
