HOLLAND Sy-IggTu.p <br />555 Seventeenth Street <br />Suite 3200 <br />Denver, CO 80202-3979 <br />RE: Suburban Sand and Gravel Road Runners II Gravel Pit Temporary Substitute Supply <br />Plan <br />Dear Ms. Snodgrass: <br />In response to the request set forth in your letter of March 20, Denver Water will agree to lease <br />water to Suburban sufficient to replace the depletions to the South Platte River which would <br />occur in the event Suburban's dewatering pumps fail and the excavation at the Road Runners Il <br />gravel pit is allowed to fill with water. Denver Water's offer to lease such replacement water is <br />based upon the understanding that Sublu-ban would dewater the pit is quickly as reasonably <br />possible, and that the excavation would not be allowed to remain full for an extended period of <br />time. <br />The cost of leasing the necessary water would be based upon the 13oard's then-current charge for <br />nonpotable water outside of the Combined Service Area. For your information, the current fee <br />for such water is $159.67 per acre-feet. <br />Please let me know if any further is required. <br />Sincerely,- <br />Michael L.
