Figure 1: Plan view of Gulch A pond showing the completed pond, location <br />of emergency spillway, location of primary spillway and dewatering device, <br />discharge flume, rip rap areas, access road for future dredging, and <br />cleaning pad for future dredging. <br />I <br />2. Figure 2: Cross sections of dam and emergency spillway. The cross section <br />locations are shown in Figure 1. <br />3. Figure 3: Plan view of Gulch A Pond showing locations that bentonite,was <br />mixed with native soils to ensure stability. ; <br />4. Figure 4: Locations for compaction tests. <br />i <br />5. Table 1: Data summary for Gulch A Pond. <br />I <br />All specifications in the approved plan for the Gulch A Pond have been <br />met or exceeded as shown in the following data summary (Table l). As shown in <br />the accompanying figures, the excavation was two feet deeper than originally <br />designed. Since an access road and cleaning pad for future dredging were added <br />to the structure during construction, a subsequent decrease in capacity would <br />have occurred, so additional capacity was obtained by excavating two feet deeper. <br />In addition, the width of the emergency spillway was increased so the slope on <br />the sides of the spillway could be decreased to accommodate future truck traffic <br />from the cleaning pad. The cross sectional area of the emergency spillway <br />increased from 45 ft.2 to 52 ft.2. <br />
