• C2 (30-60"): Pale yellowish brown (10YR 6/4) fine sandy <br />loam, olive brown (10YR 4/4) moist; massive structure; <br />slightly hard, friable, slightly sticky and slightly plastic; <br />noneffervescent; mildly alkaline (pH 7.5). <br />Range in Characteristics: The profile is noncalcareous, <br />although the C horizon may be calcareous below 20 inches. <br />A horizon textures are loamy and C horizon textures are Pine <br />sandy loam, loam or stony loam. Depth to bedrock is greater <br />than 40 inches. <br />Setting: The Lamphier series are deep .soils formed in <br />alluvial materials. They occur in the drainageways and concave <br />slope positions of moderately steep mountain.slopes. The <br />• average annual precipitation is about 18 inches and the <br />average annual air temperature is about 43 degrees F. Slopes <br />are 15 to 50~. <br />Type Location: 400 feet east and 1,000 feet south of the <br />northeast corner of Section 8, T6S, R90W.•Pit Number 3. <br />Topsoil Suitability: Good. <br /> <br />C~ <br />
