DL - Disturbed Land
This mapping unit delineates areas which have been
disturbed by previous activities. Included in this
designation are the existing road network, drill sites, and
portions of the pad area.
The disturbed lands were sampled and evaluated to
determine their ability to be revegetated. Map 2 is a
schematic diagram of the existing road network. The road
system is divided into segments, with each segment being
evaluated.
Main Access Road
The main access road was divided into eight segments.
Drill sites 4 and 5 were included in the evaluation of main
access road segment #1. The remaining drill sites and lateral
roads were evaluated seperately.
Segment #1 of the main access road has cut slopes that
expose weathered bedrock. The road bed is shallow to bedrock.
Three samples were taken from this road segment. Sample #S
was obtained from weathered bedrock. Samples #9 and #10 were
obtained from the cut slope weathered material and the fill
slope, respectively. The fill material used in this segment
is s mixture of weathered bedrock and soil. The fill areas
area are revegetating by natural processes.
