Curtiss/Environmental Protection Specialist <br />Please consider this letter as written response to your <br />adequacy review questions in your letter dated April 14, 1995. <br />1. The estimated dates that mining will begin will be as soon <br />as the proposed pit is permitted and the mining will end <br />when the material supply is exhausted or a 5 year ending <br />date. <br />2. There will be no direct drainage from the affected area <br />either in to East Twin Wash or West Twin Wash. There <br />will be no need for either berms or sediment ponds. <br />3. The average minimum topsoil thickness will be 6", although <br />there are several areas at this site that will be rockfaced. <br />We will replace all available topsoil or growth medium during <br />the reclamation process. We will follow the guidelines of <br />the Moffat County Soil Conservation District. <br />4. Approximately Eft. thickness of gravel deposit will be <br />mined in this area.. There will be no waste rock. <br />5. The maximum area to be disturbed at any one time is approx- <br />imately 6 acres. The actual pit dimensions will be approx- <br />imately 174,240 sq. ft. or 4 acres. The total area disturbed <br />upon completion of mining will be approximately 9 acres. <br />6. Approximately 7 acres are the dimensions of the old pit <br />present on the site. <br />7. We will provide a revision to the permit when or if an <br />asphalt plant is ever installed on-site. <br />8. We will regrade all slopes to agradient of 3H:1V or flatter <br />and continue the reclamation process according to the Moffat <br />County Soil Conservation District and the Division of Minerals <br />
