• I. Assumptions and Input Parameters
A. 0 values for the different alluvial aquifers were calculated from 0 = KIA
1. Cross sectional areas "A" values were calculated using A = H (w•1. 732H). H
values equal the saturated thicknesses determined from baseline monitoring.
The saturated alluvial thickness for Y-1 Tributary was calculated by
multiplying the saturated thickness at alluvial Nell YGAL17 (a similar
alluvial drainage) by the ratio (.40) of the alluvial width at Y-1
Tributary to the alluvial width at the Tributary YGAL17 is located in.
Estimates of alluvial widths "w" were obtained from alluvial mapping
presented in Exhibit 16-3, Tab 16.
2. Hydraulic gradients "I" were measured from Exhibit 7-2, Tab 7 where
proximate alluvial cell spacing was available. For other alluvial reaches
where only one alluvial well uas available, hydraulic gradients were
assumed equivalent to the stream channel bed gradients.
3. Hydraulic conductivities "K" were based on aquifer test data for cells in
each of the alluvial reaches of concern. The hydraulic conductivity for
the Y-1 alluvium was taken from Si[e YSAL 14 in Annand Draw because of the
• similarity in colLuvial/alluvial materials at Y-1 and upper Annand Draw.
4. The "K", "1", and "A" input parameters and the resultant "OS" for the
different alluvial units are:
2
Alluvial Unit A (ft ) 1 (ft/ft) K (ft/d) D cts
Annand (YAAL14) 950 0.072 0.05 0.00004
Grassy Creek (YGAL 15) 4,905 0.026 0.37 0.00046
Y-1 Tributary 913 0.05 0.05 0.000026
Sage Creek (YSAL1) 26,501 0.02 5.95 0.0365
B. TDS values for the alluvial reaches were average values calculated from the
baseline data for the period of June 1 to September 30 for all years of
monitoring data at the specific alluvial cells located in the alluvial reaches
being evaluated for impacts.
1. The Y•1 alluvium TDS value was assumed to be the same as that for alluvial
well YGAL17.
C. TDS values for the stream water quality were average values calculated from the
baseline data for the period of June 1 to September 30 for all years of
• monitoring data a[ the specific stream reaches being evaluated for impacts.
