The printout for Case 1 is enclosed in this report. Cases 2 and 3
greatly reduce the strength properties of the base material and
the dam fill. Case 3 shows that with extremely conservative base
and fill properties, the dam still has a safety factor of 1.55.
Conclusion
Due to the fact that the expected case (Case 1) results in a
safety factor above 6.0 and that extremely conservative values
for the base material and the dam fill still result in an
acceptable safety factor (Case 3), the dam is stable as
constructed.
I certify that the sediment pond at the Rimrock Mine has been
constructed according to the permitted design. Prudent state-of-
the-art engineering has been employed and the dam is sound, with
no current environmental threats or construction problems.
.~
Date: p/.Z~IQ3 By: ~/~'-~e'!~s"'"~,
