~TMOS
energy
January 23, 2003
Westside Gravel
PO Box~2370-- -
Durango, Co. 81302
Attn: Rick Shaw
801 Flodda Road, Suite 5 97x247.3873
Durango, Co. 81301 Fax 970-259198
The Durango office of Atmos Energy (Atmos) has reviewed your plans for the
Westside Gravel Pit that you are proposing to operate on a parcel of land east of
County Road 136. The main gas feed for the city of Durango is located on a portion
of that property.
Atmos has plans to reroute this gas line in the near future, and as we have
indicated to you, would like to obtain an easement on the property where your gravel
pit will be located. We are proposing a new gas line east of the County Road 136
right-of-way.
Atmos does not object to your proposed plan, but is requesting that your
mining operations be limited to an area that would be no doser that fifty (50) feet from
any existing or future easements acquired by Atmos, and that the slopes along the
borders of those easements be no greater than 3:1.
We would like to schedule a meeting with you on site to address some
concerns that we have related to maintaining adequate ground cover over our
exsting pipeline in the area where your access road will be.
~~v__
Carl Dobbins
Operations Supervisor
